I was just browsing the net and happened to see your web site and just wanting to let people know that there is an electronics recycler right here in Longmont, 805 S Lincoln. Just trying to help everybody be green.

Okay sorry I've been so slow to respond to comments! Our Comcast Internet services has been on and off (mostly off) for the last 24 hrs!
A neat link to the 2008 Earth Day Logo that I found while trying to locate the Earth Day Count Down widget...and another great Earth Day link with event planning ideas called "Earth Day in a Box." And, last but not least...this is where I got the widget, but I can't seem to find the location of the html code...if you email me at sharleyanne at gmail dot com I can send you the html.

Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughtful comments and experiences!

I've incorporated some of the same into my life. We started composting last year. Like you I hated throwing away slimy salad, veggies peels and fuzzy cucumbers. I got my first batch of black gold and I love it. I rarely go the the farmers market b/c it is a long drive, but this year I have plotted out a new larger garden space and adding cukes, peppers and carrots to my tomato plants. Plastic bags? They are only good for picking up dog poo. Canvas rocks.

It is so nice to read about other families that are going through the struggles of living a "greener" life! We recently moved to a smaller town, and I have found that it is much easier in many ways to live greener here, it is also more difficult in others. We don't have access to as much as we had when we were closer to Seattle, but our CSA farm is only 5 miles away - the veggies don't have to be delivered in a truck 50+ miles like last year.

I started selling reusable grocery bags after reading about how bad both paper and plastic are for the environment - I always assumed that paper was the better choice. I always have at least one on hand, but my sisters keep taking the larger ones off my shoulders when I go for a visit!

One question I have - where did you get the earth day countdown widget? I would love to add that to my blog!

Have a great week,
Jennifer

Hey, I love my little purple bag and have already saved way more than it's price in the reductions they give for using your own bag at the checkout counter! A nickel saved is a nickel earned!
