Welcome to the April 25, 2008 edition of Green It! Carnival. We received so many wonderful articles, that I am publishing early. Start your weekend out right and keep reading until you are through!

This week we received one post that I would like to highlight at the beginning:

Meg of All About Appearances has created FruWiki.com a site to help us all live frugal green lives. Like all wiki-applications those who want to participate and share their own knowledge can sign up to contribute. So, above all else, please check out Meg’s post: Introducing… FruWiki.com!

Meg says: “I launched FruWiki as a place to gather and share frugal advice to help people save money. However, it should come as no surprise that many of the tips already found there are remarkably green, like buying less, reusing things as much as possible, looking for ways to repurpose things, and finding other ways to keep things out of the trash for as long as possible.”

Green Challenges

Unfortunately, it seems that some people can get competitive over just about anything. In her post “Greenupmanship,” Sonia encourages her readers to just do their green best, with out judging others!

In To use or not use the CFL bulbs Sommer researches the good and bad of CFLs.

Mike presents Top 10 Myths About Hybrid Cars, saying, “It’s amazing the questions I still get about hybrid cars and how they run and how they’re good for the environment. All this despite how long hybrid cars have been around.”

With summer and the little buggers that come with it, Amanda’s post Ant Attack sure is timely!

Are you challenged to live more green? Do you wonder what a difference you can make? Then check out MamaBird’s post Happy Earth Day Number Crunching!

Green Experiences

Sommer shares a very personal experience that should resonate with any parent in A personal story and renewed “green” mission!

Take your composting one step further with Jessica’s post Turds to Tomatoes: Composting Humanure. Seriously, though this really might be a green revolution. When I hiked Mt. Saint Helens 10 years or so ago they had composting outhouses on the trail and using them was the best outhouse experience I’ve ever had!

Michelle presents Why I Choose Cloth Diapers (Over and Over Again). She also says “Love the carnival - thanks for doing it!” No problem — the carnival is lots of fun and very rewarding!

Jason presents New High Efficiency Front Loading Washer and Dryer, saying, “We got a new high-efficiency washer and were amazed at all the green benefits to having one.”

Lill presents Great Green Family Projects, saying, “I live in rural Maine where we’re very much tied to the health of the environment. We live in a tumbledown house on acres of fields, woods and a really neat swamp, where we get to observe Mother Nature up close and personal.”

Green Tips

Water Conservation:

NtJS presents How To: Build a Low-Cost Rain Barrel posted at not the jet set, saying, “Water conservation is just a weekend project away, and we’ll show you how. With a simple rainwater collection system, you’ll have plenty of water for your lawn or garden - in good times and in dry.”

George L Smyth presents One Minute How-To - How To Understand Easy Home Water Efficiency saying, “Jennifer MackInday explains a couple of quick and easy things you can do at home that will save thousands of gallons of clean water every year.”

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

Tiffany encourages you to get creative and extend the life of your torn and worn jeans with 5 Ways to Recycle Your Blue Jeans.

Chickens in the Road presents Handcrafted Herb Pot Markers posted at Author Suzanne McMinn.

Melissa presents It’s new to me! saying, “Ideas on how to buy less and help others do the same - remember, reduce comes before reuse or recycle!”

Valereee presents Foraging: hot new foodie trend, or the hottest new foodie trend? saying, “Reduce your carbon footprint by responsible foraging!”

Nichole may mean competition for Danny Seo, with her clever Green Wedding Tips - Potted Centerpieces.

Nymfa presents Four Ways for Creative People to Enjoy A Spam Can posted at Career Mothering.

GP is excited to present her experiences and tips with Clean Cleaning Up.

Zork has submitted an alien cartoon: Read Books for Free at the Library and says, “Save a tree - get your book at the library.”

Alexander presents There are Too Many Plastic Bags to Use Them All as Pooper Scoopers, saying, “Reusable grocery bags have become a way a life that we are reminded of every time we are standing in the check-out lane. You can start being green on your next grocery adventure!”

This edition receive a huge response of wonderful posts. If your post did not show up this time around, you may have submitted it after the early deadline or it did not match the submission criteria.

Submit your blog article to the next edition of Green It! using our carnival submission form. Please read the publication criteria carefully!

That concludes this edition.

Thank you, thank you very much!
