Several weeks ago I was contacted by a local green-lifestyle shop regarding my reusable gift bags. This morning I finally got around to making labels out of recycled cardboard (Twist Sponge boxes), recycled paper (post consumer & already printed on one side), basic water based glue and my HP printer. I also used a mix of ribbon, yard twine and the bags themselves to attach the tags. I think it all turned out pretty well!
I put a good deal of thought into making labels that were both eco-friendly and recyclable, so that I would not be creating extra waste. I get so annoyed when I find supposedly “green” products in excess packaging or with wasteful components. I also wanted to make something that was somewhat elegant. All in all, I think my first attempt tuned out well!
Hopefully, they are a hit and I get orders for more. Speaking of which — if you need a reusable gift bag please contact me! I can make custom orders and right now they are about $4 for a small bag, $6 for a medium bag and $8 (or more) for a large bag (plus shipping!) You can also visit my Etsy store, although right now the inventory is ZERO as all my bags are going to Green Back!

How cute and congrats!!! I’m always excited to see people starting green businesses. Even better when it’s women!
This is a very creative project. You should be seeing a nice growth in sales if you have one or two friends helping you. Great job.
